In what it calls their commitment “to protecting taxpayer and tax preparer data as well as its systems from attacks by cybercriminals,” the IRS is reinforcing the identity authentication for several IRS.gov web tools, including e-services. What this means to you is that in late October you will need to re-register for e-services and validate your identity if you want continued access to e-services.
